Troubleshooting a Blank Screen or No Picture in the Nex-Tech TV Now App on Amino Amigo

If you're experiencing a blank screen or no picture while using the Nex-Tech TV Now app, follow these troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue:

  • Make sure your streaming device or TV isn’t in standby or screensaver mode by pressing any button on the remote control. 
  • Power Cycle the Amino Amigo device:
    1. Unplug the device from the power source.
    2. Wait 10-20 seconds before reconnecting the power cable.
    3. Wait for the device to boot back up.
  • Check Your TV and Input Settings
    1. Ensure TV is powered on: Confirm your TV is on and displaying the correct HDMI input where your Amino Amigo is connected.
    2. Check HDMI Cable Connection: Ensure the HDMI cable is securely connected to both the streaming device and the TV. Try unplugging and reconnecting it to make sure the connection is tight.
    3. Try a Different HDMI Port: If available, switch the HDMI port on your TV to rule out a potential issue with the current port.
  • Check for Updates:
    1. Open the App Store or Google Play Store on the Amino Amigo.
    2. Search for the Nex-Tech TV Now app and check if an update is available.
    3. If an update is available, download and install it, then restart the app and see if the issue is resolved.
  •  Clear Cache and Data for the Nex-Tech TV Now App
    • From the Settings menu, go to Applications > Manage Applications.
    • Select Nex-Tech TV Now.
    • Choose Clear Cache and Clear Data.
    • Restart the app and check if the blank screen issue is resolved.
    • (NOTE: THIS WILL REQUIRE YOU TO LOG BACK IN WITH YOUR USERNAME AND PASSWORD.)
  • Reinstall the Nex-Tech TV Now App
    • Navigate to the Settings or Applications menu on your Amino Amigo.
    • Select the Nex-Tech TV Now app and uninstall it.
    • After uninstalling, return to the app store, search for the Nex-Tech TV Now app, and reinstall it.
  • Check for Software Updates
    • From the Settings menu, go to System > Software Update.
    • If an update is available for the device, follow the on-screen instructions to install the latest version.
    • After updating, restart your Amino Amigo device and check if the issue is fixed.
