Atmail Email Spam Filters and Settings
Atmail Email Spam Filters and Settings
Currently we have been having a large amount of incoming spam email. Filters are a great way to supplement your normal use of the spam button to identify unwanted email. If you notice a large amount of emails with the same subject matter or from the same address constantly filling your inbox, filters are often the best way to combat this.
Filters can be set up by logging into the Atmail client at webmail.yourdomain.net and going to the top right tab that says settings. You can then click on Email Filters on the left hand side. Here you can go down to New Rule and using the drop down boxes set the rule up to fit your needs.
Email Filters is one way to help limit the amount of spam you get. Another way is through your Anti-Spam settings. This menu is also on the left hand side directly above Email Filters. Here you can change the spam detection anywhere from 1-20. The lower the number, the better the spam protection. On average most accounts start with a 5. We are currently recommending customers drop their Spam filter sensitivity down to a 2. This isn’t going to stop it all by any means, but it helps. This is also the section where you can blacklist certain addresses from sending you mail completely, or designate someone to the whitelist where you will always get their emails even if the spam filter thinks that they might be spam. All you do is type in the email address in either the whitelist or blacklist box depending on whether you want to allow or block the address.
