Adding Email Accounts

  1. To add an Email account, first open up Outlook Express.



  2. Next, click on Tools along the top and then select Accounts...



  3. Click on Add and then choose Mail.



  4. Display name is the name that others will see when receiving mail. Tells them who it's coming from. Then press Next.



  5. For Email address, type in your full email address and press Next.



  6. Here we will make the following changes and then press Next:
    • My incoming mail server is an IMAP server
    • Incoming mail server: imap.ruraltel.net (or imap.gbta.net, etc. depending on your email address)
    • Outgoing mail server: smtp.ruraltel.net (or smtp.gbta.net, etc. depending on your emails address)



  7. The account name will be the full email address and your email password will go in the Password box. Press Next.



  8. You have now set up your email address and can press Finish at the bottom.






Viewing Account Settings

  1. To view your account settings, we must first open Outlook Express.



  2. Next, click on Tools along the top and then select Accounts...



  3. With the account you would like to view highlighted, click on Properties.



  4. Here you will find the different account settings for the selected email account. You can browse through the different sections by using the tabs along the top.






Removing Email Accounts

  1. To remove an email account, we must first open Outlook Express.



  2. Next, click on Tools along the top and then select Accounts...



  3. With the account you would like to remove highlighted, click on Remove at the right.



  4. You will get a popup confirming that you want to remove the account. If so, press Yes.



  5. Your account is now removed.
