Microsoft Outlook 2002 - E-mail Setup

Setting up Microsoft Outlook 2002

This page provides a view of the screens and configurations customers encounter on their initial install and setup of Outlook 2002 from the Office XP Professional CD.

1. On the initial welcome screen, click NEXT.

2. The program will then ask if you would like to configure an E-mail account; make sure Yes is marked, then click on Next.

3. On the Server Type selection screen, make sure that POP3 is marked. If it is not, put a dot beside it, then click Next.

4. Under User information, type in the name to be displayed when sending E-mail, as well as the E-mail address. Then, for the Server Information, the Incoming mail server is pop3.ruraltel.net, and Outgoing mail server is smtp.ruraltel.net.

Under Login Information, type in the Username, as well as the password, then put a checkmark in Remember Password. Click the More Settings button, go to the Outgoing tab, and check mark My Server Requires Authentication, then click Ok. Once that is done, click Next.

All you should need to do at this point is click on Finish.
