Calling Feature Codes

Here are useful tips and instructions for utilizing your calling features.


ANONYMOUS CALL REJECTION *77
Press *77 and listen for confirmation tone or announcement, then hang up. Callers will hear a message telling them that you are not accepting calls that are blocked. i.e. “Please remove the block and call again.” To cancel, press *87, then listen for announcement.


AUTOMATIC RECALL *69
Press *69. You will hear the phone number of your last incoming call. If you want to return the call, press 1. If not, hang up. If the line is not busy, listen for normal ringing. If the line is busy, listen for announcement, hang up. The busy line will be dialed for the next half hour. You will receive a special call-back ring when the line is free. Pick up the receiver and the number you are calling will ring. To cancel, press *89, then listen for announcement.


AUTOMATIC REDIAL *66
After a busy signal, hang up. Lift hand set and listen for the dial tone. Press *66. You will hear an announcement similar to, “The number you have called is busy, but should it become available in the next half hour, you will be automatically notified by a distinctive ring.” You will receive a “special” call-back ring when the line is free. Pick up the receiver and the number you were calling will ring. You may get or make calls while this feature is on. To cancel, press *86, then listen for announcement.

CALL FORWARDING
Press *72. Listen for the dial tone. Dial the number where you want your calls to be forwarded. (You can use Abbreviated Dialing codes if you have this feature.) The Call Forwarding feature is in effect when someone answers at the forwarding number. If there is no answer at the forwarding number or if the line is busy, hang up the phone and repeat the steps in “Call Forwarding.” If you do so within two minutes, you’ll hear two “beeps,” meaning your Call Forwarding feature is now working. Once you’ve activated Call Forwarding, your phone will make one short ring each time a call is forwarded. You can still make outgoing calls from this phone. If you wish to change the number to which your calls are being forwarded, just deactivate the feature, then follow the steps above to forward calls to a new number. To deactivate, press *73. Listen for two “beeps,” then hang up. Feature is no longer in effect, and calls will ring through.

 

 

NOTE: You will be charged for calls forwarded to a long distance number.

CALLER ID BLOCK *67
Per call blocking – dial *67 before you dial your outgoing telephone number. This will block your number on that one call. Per line blocking – You order this from Nex-Tech and it is automatically placed on all your calls. You can cancel the blocking on a per call basis by dialing *82 before dialing an outgoing number.

CUSTOMER ORIGINATED TRACE *57
Hang up after receiving an annoying call. Immediately lift receiver and listen for dial tone. Press *57. Follow voice prompt, listen for confirmation of trace, and hang up. Record the time and date of the call and contact Nex-Tech. Call Waiting tone during the call will be the number traced.

ENHANCED CALL WAITING/CANCEL ENHANCED CALL WAITING
If you have an incoming call while you are on the line, the Enhanced Call Waiting feature will alert you with a special tone. To Use Enhanced Call Waiting: A special tone alerts you that another call is waiting.  (Only you will hear this tone.) Another tone will be heard 10 seconds later if the waiting call remains unanswered. To Answer the Second Call: Depress the switchhook for about one second to place your first call on hold. You will automatically be connected with the second caller. To Alternate Between Calls: By depressing the switchhook for about a second, you may alternate between calls. Each conversation is private and cannot be heard by the other caller. To Terminate Either Call: Simply hang up. Your telephone will then ring. When you answer it you’ll be connected with the other caller. To Disable Enhanced Call Waiting on a per call basis: Lift the handset and listen for the dial tone. Press *70. Dial normally. To Disable Enhanced Call Waiting during a call: Press and release the switchhook. Press *70 and you will automatically be reconnected to your call. As soon as the call is completed and you hang up the phone, Enhanced Call Waiting returns automatically to your phone.

SELECTIVE CALL ACCEPTANCE *64
To set up a list, dial *64. Press #, dial the number, press #. To access or turn off your service once the list is established: Press *64. Voice prompts will inform you if your list is on or off. To turn your list on or off, dial “3.” One telephone number must be placed in your list to be able to turn on the service.

SELECTIVE CALL REJECTION *60
To set up a list, dial *60. Press #, dial the number, press #. To add the last calling party after receiving an unwanted call (you do not know the number): Dial *60. Press #. Dial 01, then push #. To access or turn off your service once list is established: Press *60. Voice prompts will inform you if your list is on or off. To turn your list on or off, dial “3.” One telephone number must be placed in your list to be able to turn on the service.

SELECTIVE CALL FORWARDING *63
To enter the “Forward-To” number (first time): Listen for dial tone. Press *63. Press 3, enter the number you’re forwarding to. Press #, then 1 to confirm voice prompt. To make your list (first time): Press #, enter telephone number, and press #. For subsequent list changes: Press *63, press #, enter telephone number, and press #. To access or turn off your service: Press *63, listen to prompt to tell if list is on or off. To turn list on or off, dial 3.

SELECTIVE DISTINCTIVE RINGING /CALL WAITING *61
To set up a list, dial *61. Press #, dial the number, press #. To access or turn off your service (once list is established): Press *61. Voice prompts will inform you if your list is on or off. To turn your list on or off, dial 3. One telephone number must be in your list to be able to turn on the service.

SPEED DIALING
To program or change your 8-speed dialing list: press 74#. Dial one of the 8, one-digit speed codes (2-9). To program or change your 30-speed dialing list: press 75#. Dial one of the 30, two-digit speed codes (20-49). For either speed list, dial the number you wish to speed call (remembering to include “1” for long distance entries) and then press #. You can now continue entering other numbers on your list by repeating the above steps or you can enter them later. To use your 8-speed dialing numbers, lift the handset and dial the appropriate one-digit (2-9) for speed code and press #. Your call will now be dialed automatically. To use your 30-speed dialing numbers, lift the handset and dial the appropriate two-digit (20-49) speed code and press #.

THREE-WAY CALLING
First, to hold your existing call, depress the switchhook for about a second. Then dial the third party. (Speed Dialing codes may be used if you have this feature.) When the third party answers, you may talk privately before completing your three-way connection. With your third party on the line, depress the switchhook for a second to add the holding party. Your three-way call is now in effect. If for some reason the call to the third party is not completed, depress the switchhook twice to get back to your held party. To disconnect the third party, depress the switchhook for about a second. You will now have the original called party on the line.
